Character Pumpkins and State Notebook

Character Pumpkins were amazing.  We picked a vocabulary word to define on our crowns and celebrated our pumpkins in the vocab parade!

I created this explosive 111 page freebie for my postcard exchange.  The file includes several picture tutorials on creating different notebook artifacts.  I've included all sheets in color and grayscale.  Also included are links to resource websites and book recommendations.

I love the packet, I plan on tweaking it a bit to use with my kinder kiddos. I did notice a mistake - The state flag for Alaska is with Arizona, so I'm guessing that the Arizona flag is with Alaska.

Thanks. I did switch the two flags. I've fixed the error and uploaded revised version to TpT.

Thanks so much! This is full of great information that I will be using with my students. I've taught about states with older kids, but not with first graders. This will be so wonderful to use. I often used the little books where you cut a slit and fold the paper inside. They are great! One comment about my state, Oregon . . . the state flower is actually called the Oregon Grape not just Grape. It is a different plant than a grape plant.

Sorry for the losses you have had in the last few weeks.

Thank you for the wonderful resource for the postcard exchange. My students will love making these. We are just completing a lapbook on insects and starting one to go along with Charlotte's Web. My students love making the foldables, and so do I!

I too am sorry to hear about your losses. It is never an easy thing. We are a small community and lost a young man, who graduated last year, on the 18th in a car accident. We then lost one of our third graders on the 25th. He was in a car accident in August and never awoke from his comma. It has been an amazingly difficult couple of weeks so I feel for you. The hardest has been helping our third graders understand, process, grieve and say their good-byes. :( We do go on... and I love all of your things! I too love Stellaluna and our theme this year is owls. I may borrow your compare and contrast activity. Chin up! :)
