Thank you so much for the great guiding post! I wanted to let you know that in the football game recording sheet there is a spelling error it says "Sun" instead of "Sum". Thanks again for the many great resources! Virginia

Great post. I love all the games. I got the book as soon as it became available in the early spring (I think it was like March or early April) so I am using this book study as a review. I always learn something new each time I thumb through it or reread a chapter.

I completed steps 1-4 to earn my first entry into your drawing. I LOVE the resources that you posted and am glad you connected them to CCSS. Now it's time to get started on my blog party post! Thank you!

Thanks for sharing the wonderful resources. I was able to view the items but not download them through Scribd. Scribd and Facebook don't seem to be talking. I hope they get the kinks worked out, I'm eager to get started.

Ramona,

When you look at my post..Do you see a tree at the bottom, middle of each scribd page? This is the download button. If it doesn't work, will you let me know?

My biggest "take-away" from this book study has been how to manage a math stations set-up. I was going about math in the hardest way possible and I am so excited to revamp it all! Pairing kids to work in teams seems so easy and obvious...but I wasn't doing it! They love working together and two is certainly the magic number to reduce problems. I have learned much, much more...differentiation ideas, activity ideas, math talk ideas, the importance of modeling...I could go on! Thank you for hosting this chapter and offering so much!

I just added my link for chapter 5! :)

Mrs. Patton said...

This book study is making think about three main things:
1- How I teach the games to my students.
2- How I can support math talk at the math stations.
3- How I can differentiate the stations for different students.

Anonymous said...

I've added my post to your links! :)

Anonymous said...

There are so many things that I have learned in just 5 chapters! I can't imagine filling my brain with even more! But the best thing I have taken away so far is to promote math talk for students and give them the tools (like math talk cards) to practice it independently.

I downloaded everything. Thanks for sharing!
