My computer has a cold and will not stay on for more than five minutes at a time.  I'm gonna keep this post short and sweet.  Please forgive me!!

Welcome back for Day 3 of Back to School Basics, a week long feature with giveaways, freebies, and linky parties!  Today I'm featuring products for birthdays!

Jack Hartmann's music makes me giggle! His CD, Every 1 Counts, has a song my primary students love.  You can preview Have a Hip-Hop Happy Birthday here.  

Birthday Giveaway...

In July 2011, I featured my file, Celebrating Yummy Birthdays.  On the first day of school, I gave each of my *then* second graders a birthday cupcake with their name and birth date.  After lunch we graphed our cupcakes and compared our data.  During the school year, we celebrate birthdays with a cupcake cone.  Link here for my picture tutorial.

Erica Bohrer likes to utilize Take-Home bags in her classroom to enhance the home-school communication.  One of her bags is a birthday take home bag.  This packet will help you make your students' birthdays as special as they are! 

Kim Adsit has a Birthdays Fun Music Book to accompany Jack Hartmann's song Birthdays. It is on his Math All Around cd. You can preview the song here.The song book is great to use as a center. Add a cd of the song to a pocket on the back of the book and children can sing the songs and follow the text in the little music book. 

Hadar Maor has a Birthday Cupcake Display too.  Hadar and I have similar products but featured very differently.  Rather than graphing the cupcakes as a display, she has cupcakes for each month and candles added to the cupcake for each birthday.

Students hold calendar date cards and stand with others celebrating birthdays the same month for a picture.  Love this!!!
